You may or may not be aware of the plans to build a HUGE Football stadium for the 2018 (or 2022) Football Worldcup right next to Gamston, Tollerton, Bassigfield on Greenbelt land together with a very large number of houses. This stadium would be Forest's home in future.

Just a reminder that it's tonight.
Usual place, usual time, usual faces. Unusually big issues and problems. Turn up and help again as you usually do and we shall all win again.

We are currently trying to fight the potential Forest Stadium construction at Gamston. (which is part of the 2018 & 2022 world cup bids)
Linked to this is a housing proposal on the site stretching along the A52 Gamston to Tollerton which is part of the Local Development Framework which itself is a part of the Greater Nottingham Core Strategy (GNCS).
The link below will take you to an article in the Nott'm Evening Post earlier this week that gives an effective summary of the proposals.

To cut a long story short - Rushcliffe BC are due a Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday 12th Jan at 8pm at the Civic Centre (this meeting was meant to start at 7.00pm but seems to have been postponed due to the weather, they know we are coming so whether it's a tactic so we get there late, I'll let you decide if you can make if for 7.00pm just in case...) were they will be making a decision as to whether to recommend (or not) Gamston & Clifton as 'preferred options' for housing and wider development within the GNCS that is due to go to public consultation at the end of January.
Why does this interest us? Because the housing development at Gamston is/will be used to fund the stadium development at the Lings Bar Roundabout, and we all agree that this is the wrong place for a football stadium!
The Rushcliffe GreenFields group (of which FIELDS is a member), agreed to attend the cabinet meeting on the 12th (it is a public meeting), en mass, in an attempt to demonstrate the level of opposition to both the housing development proposals and the wider issue of inappropriate development of the green belt. We need as many people as possible to attend the meeting.
If you have a spare hour (as I'm reliably informed that these meetings last on average 30 mins), on Tuesday evening and are up for a little bit of civic disobedience and general barracking and heckeling, then come along and encourage others to do so!
Could I ask you to spread the word of the above please as far and wide as possible?
Hope to see you all there!
Many thanks for your support.
