Greenies Autum 2007

Recent activities have focused on harvesting this year's produce from 'Greenies Field'. Potatoes and onions are good, also garlic, beans, courgettes, beetroot; leeks coming soon. Brassicas fair, pumpkins not good this year. Sweetcorn in a few more weeks. Regular jobs include strimming paths, covering to keep weeds and grass down, watering from the bigtank installed last year. Rhubarb coming on well, also apples and other fruit, especially plums and damsons.

Our arrangement for cultivating this so-called 'awkward field', made with Chris Scott, continues, and we hope that any future change of ownership will still permit us to continue these activities, thus keeping an interest for the Lady Bay community in this valued local asset. Anyone interested in joining this 'Greenies' group should please ring Paul on 981 1035 or John on 982 2351.
