Dipping pond constructed

Thanks to grant assistance from Rushcliffe Borough Council, the planned dipping pond has been dug, lined and filled. We will be planting around it and installing a dipping platform in due course.

We are also pleased to say that work on Josie's meadow - a meadow of native wildflowers - is ongoing and seed will be sown very soon. The picture above shows the area after close mowing and scarifying. Here too we are grateful to Rushcliffe Borough Council for grant funding, and also to the many generous donations to the Friends funds made in Josie's name.

Having recorded the support we have had from Rushcliffe, we do have to say that we were disappointed to hear from them that because of cuts in the maintenance budget, they are proposing to only mow the grass on the main field once a year. Please do let us have any comments you may have.

Next working party: Sunday June 9th
2pm - 4pm    Meet at the fisherman's car park off Holme Grove.
