Lady Bay Gardening Group meet monthly on the first Monday evening at All Hallows Church, Pierrepont Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham (No 11 bus route). The meetings start at 8pm, admission is £3.00 per session to include refreshments. Each month we welcome guest speakers and we are always happy to welcome new members. Quite often at the meetings there are plants and other things for sale and sometimes our guest speakers bring along their specialised plants for sale. The meetings usually last for a couple of hours, and after each talk there is a question and answer time with refreshments when our speakers are only too happy to help with your queries.
Monday 5 December - Lady Bay Gardening Group Christmas Party at All Hallows Church at 8pm. There will be a quiz, a raffle, seasonal refreshments, some fun and all for £3.00. Please come and join in. (However, please note if the weather is anything like last year, this event will sadly be cancelled).
Our diary for January to April 2012 is as follows:
Monday 9 January 2012 - our speaker is David Singleton from DSA environment and design (based in Lady Bay) and the talk is on 'The Environmental Landscape' - come and find out about sustainability!
Monday 6 February 2012 - speaker is Geoff Hodge and he will be talking about 'Gardening under Glass' - all you ever want to know about the benefits of having a greenhouse, maintenance, types of plants, cold frames etc.
Monday 5 March - we welcome back one of our favourite speakers - Stuart Dixon - whose talk is on 'Some like it hot', hot plants, hot weather, hot colours.
Monday 2 April - this month our speaker is Brian Holman and his talk is 'An Introduction to Herbs' so come and find out how to grow them, where to grow them, and all the ebenfits we can gain from this special group of plants.
During the summer months we will be having evening visits to local gardens of interest and at the beginning of July we will have our annual coach trip somewhere special further afield.
We have a break until September when our indoor talks start again. So whether you are a long-standing member or feel that we can offer something of interest to you and you would like to join us - we're a very friendly group - please come along and meet us.
