Lady Bay - West Bridgford

Bus stop update

Councillor Sue Mallender reported concerns about the state of the bus stops on Trent Boulevard and has asked us to post the response she received.

Good afternoon Councillor,

Thank you for your phone call yesterday to report issues with bus stops in the Lady Bay area. I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress made with both cases.

Bus stop pole RU0517 Primary School. This has now been reinstalled on site.

Bus shelter RU0530 Woodland Road. I have been out to this site and can confirm that your concerns were well placed. The new width of the footpath where it is at its narrowest going past the bus shelter is 1.14m, 0.06m less than the recommended width. I have contacted the owners of the bus shelter, Clearchannel, and they have provided us with the option to either remove the sides fully or to have half sides reinstalled. The option to have half sides reinstalled is more than double the cost of having the sides removed, and so I am awaiting a confirmation from my manager before placing the order for the works to go ahead.

I am unable to give an exact date of when the works will take place, however Clearchannel usually work to a timescale of between 6-10 weeks to be complete works from the date of order.

I hope this addresses all of the issues from yesterday. If you have any further queries relating to these or any other bus stop issues please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

In reply Sue has asked that sides be provided to protect people from the weather.
