Lady Bay - West Bridgford

Can you help?

Expedition funding appeal

Local student Millie Corrall writes:

I am an A-level student at Rushcliffe Sixth Form and a former pupil of Lady Primary School. During the summer of 2015 I will be participating in an expedition to Ecuador. This will be a four week expedition which will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include a trip to the Galapagos Islands to learn about the unique ecosystem which exists there.

The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:

• Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Ecuador.

• Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programmes to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.

In order to go on the trip I need to fundraise £4500. So far I have got myself a job waitressing at The Lady Bay Pub, every penny I have earned from this has gone into my fund. I have also organised several successful fundraising events in Lady Bay which have been really well supported by the community.

I am also writing to you to ask if you are able to offer any financial support towards my expedition, anything would be gratefully received.

This expedition is extremely important to me, not only because I hope it will enhance my A level studies in Geography and Spanish, but also I will acquire and develop many important life skills. I am so excited about this expedition and feel it will be a life changing experience.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.
