Lady Bay Open Gardens raises over £6,000

This year's Open Gardens was a great success, with net proceeds from entry charges of £3,180, which will go into the Lady Bay Community Fund. Over and above that, the gardens and other venues carrying out other fundraising activities raised a further £2,895 for a range of other good causes.

Keith Wright, on behalf of the organising team, expressed his gratitude to the gardeners, organisers, performers and helpers, saying "Thank you so much for your help this year whether it was in opening your garden, organising and setting up the event or performing over the weekend. Thanks also to the Garden Visitors who went around the gardens making sure everybody had everything they needed. It was a truly fantastic team effort. We had an excellent turn-out for the event, thanks in no small part to Alan Tiplady who did a sterling job with the publicity, and all the distributors of posters, flyers and programmes both far and wide and door to door in Lady Bay."

An interim date for next years event has been set for 21/22 June though this has yet to be confirmed.
