A sad loss for Lady Bay

Many Lady Bay residents will have known Lawrence Geary, for many years the chair of the Lady Bay Community Association. Sadly after an illness Lawrence has passed away, and the following is a message from his family. The LBCA extends its sincere sympathies to Lawrence's family and gives thanks for all he did for this community over very many years.


Lawrence Geary passed away on Tuesday 5th July at home in Lady Bay, aged 75. Much loved grandfather, writer, & community activist.

The Funeral will be at 2:30pm Friday 22nd July at St Edmund's, Holme Pierrepont, Hall Drive NG12 2LD.

We are asking people to bring an umbrella or parasol in any colour.

Family flowers only. Donations welcome for Coram's Fields* via the funeral directors MA Mills, 38 Main Road Radcliffe on Trent, Notts NG12 2AA.

At Lawrence's request the hymns will be 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' and 'Eternal Father Strong to Save'. If you need to become familiar with the Naval Hymn here's the youtube link.

For those who would like to carry on sharing memories into the evening, or who aren't free in the afternoon but can make later on we will be having drinks at the Poppy and Pint off Pierrepont Road, Lady Bay from 6.00pm onwards.
