August 2011 - Dan Jarvis
Dan (born 30 November 1972) lived on Holme Road, went to Lady Bay & Rushcliffe Schools, sang in the Junior Choir at All Hallows Church and had a paper round for several years. He continued his education at the University of Aberystwyth and Sandhurst.

He then joined the Parachute Regiment, served in Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan, became General Jackson's personal Staff officer, then resigned his commission in March 2011 to contest the Barnsley Central seat for the Labour Party, which he won.

This despite being a lone parent to two small children following his wife's death from cancer.

Well done, Dan!

June 2011 - Tony Bell
Actor Tony Bell, late of Adbolton Grove and Lady Bay Primary School, spotted in Midsomer Murders, repeats have been shown on TV recently.
