In April 2009, as part of Transition West Bridgford, The Green Streets Initiative was launched.

Green Streets celebrates, promotes, and advocates for the use of alternative transportation. This is done for environmental, health, and community building reasons, creating safer, quieter, healthier streets for commuters and citizens of all types.  Lady Bay is famous for its deep green living and could be the shining star of environmental communities and set an example for many towns in the UK who are still wondering how to go about change...

...Lady bay is also famous for it's campaigning. For once, this is not a fight against something, it is a celebration and expression of all the wonderful green actions we already do in our community - trying to get those who are not yet involved to follow in our green footsteps.
 
Supporting the Green Streets initiative is not hard and does not cost you anything, but it raises your sense of belonging and it is a great excuse for a monthly celebration.
