This is Nottingham - update
Newsflash

PART of Nottingham's ring road will be closed for the next 24 hours due to a burst water main.

The Silverdale Island on the A52 is currently underwater after a water mains burst overnight.

Around 10,000 properties in West Bridgford, Silverdale, Clifton, Gamston, Wilford, Lenton, Basford and Lady Bay are currently without running water as a result of the leak.

The emergency services and Severn Trent Water engineers are at the scene but are unable to say how long repairs will take.

Police and fire crews were called out at 3.10am after reports that the roundabout and road were flooded.

A Notts Police spokeswoman said the road would be closed for at least the next 24 hours while repairs are carried out.

Roads diversions are in place.
