VAN CONTAINING 'SLOUCH POD' CHAIRS STOLEN

Police are appealing for witnesses after a van containing 30 'slouch pod' chairs was stolen from outside factory premises on Private Road No 2 on the Colwick Industrial Estate.

The blue Mercedes Sprinter van, which had 'Polypearl' written on the side, was taken at around 2100hrs on Wednesday 05 Nov 08.  Inside the van were 30 boxes containing 'slouch pod' bean bags, which have built in speakers and are used with MP3 players and computer games.

CCTV from the factory premises shows someone getting out of a small, light coloured 3dr hatchback car before getting into the van and driving off. The car also drove off from the scene.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw either the van or car in the Colwick Industrial Estate at around 2100hrs 05 Nov 08.

The van has not yet been recovered, and officers are keen to trace its whereabouts.  Anyone who has seen a blue Mercedes van with 'Polypearl' written on the side and a vehicle registration number of V579 HAU should call the police immediately.

They are also appealing for anyone who is offered a 'slouch pod' to contact them, as it may be one of those stolen with the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC 2583 Craig Bailey at Carlton Police Station on 01159 400 999, quoting incident number 1020-NH-051108. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
