Many people in Lady Bay support local charities, including the Foodbank in The Meadows and at The Friary, Musters Road.  The (growing) list is below.

Meadows Foodbank

Donations always welcome - Items typically required include:-
Tinned fruit
Tinned spaghetti
Rice pudding
Custard
Jam
Fruit squash
500g and 1kg bags of rice
Soap, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, loo rolls, deodorant , women’s sanitary products , shaving gel , razors.

The Friary

Working with the homeless.  Donations always welcome.  Based at :-
46 Musters Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7PR

Trent Vineyard Foodbank Collection

This church runs a warehouse, also known as 'The Arches', to hold food, toiletries and baby and household items.  They distribute to 19 foodbanks run by other organisations around Nottingham. 

Seasonal requirements can vary; for example during winter there is a need for small tents and sleeping bags for the homeless.  Collection point in Lady Bay is at 11, Gertrude Road every Thursday.  Leave donations in the black box outside if no-one in.  Contact is Dave at 07824353014.

West Bridgford Community Helpers

A 'buddy system' initiative to pair volunteers with lonely and vulnerable people needing support during self-isolation.  Called Community Helpers, they have a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/842219359579252/ and an email address [email protected].

Currently appealing for letters and gifts to support staff and residents at the Skylarks retirement home.

Moo Haven

Moo Haven are a charity working with rescue horses, based just outside Lady Bay, on the road to the sailing club and waterports centre.  This link is to a short feature produced by the BBC - www.facebook.com/watch/?v=206485170292914.  Over 170 horses!
