LATEST UPDATE 20/04/21  🌻🌻🌻🌻

The Lady bay open gardens committee met recently to finalise that sadly open gardens as we know it in Lady Bay will not go ahead on the 26th and 27th June 2021

However, to mark the weekend and celebrate our beautiful community we will be celebrating all things front garden! We propose a front Garden photo drop of all the beautiful front gardens in lady bay, 1 photo per household.

On the week leading up to the 26th of June, householders can submit one photograph of their beautiful front garden to a newly set up facebook group or drop off a photo to be scanned and uploaded.

On Sunday 27th June the photos will be plotted on map in static point (dropped pin) on Google Maps (TBC).

It is then proposed that there will be an opportunity for a peruse and amble around the streets 12-4pm. There are some gardeners who may want to sit in their front gardens, others may not.

This will be undertaken completely at the participants own risk.

So, Get the seeds in, get the pots and planters potted up and lets make the place shine! LB planters tickled up would be amazing too.

2022 Open gardens, our 30th will be bigger and better and more amazing than ever……until then we will not forget our gardening legacy!

The Lady Bay Open Gardens Committee held its first meeting of the year. The first item for discussion was to decide if the 2021, the 30th Lady Bay Open Gardens event should go ahead. We trust that you will understand that with the current situation, and the uncertainty as to how this will pan out over the coming months, it was felt that to make any formal commitment to running the Open Gardens event at this stage would be wrong therefore we have postponed Lady Bay Open Gardens 2021. It was a difficult decision but for the safety of yourselves, the general public and the reputation of the event we feel it was the best option.

The Committee would like to thank each and everyone of you, and your family and friends, for your commitment over many years that has contributed to Lady Bay Open Gardens being a show case event in Nottingham.

The Committee has booked a further meeting in April to review the current situation, and to assess if there are any activities we could offer in lieu of Open Gardens. If you have any suggestions please do send them on to us. We will do our very best to update you as much as possible as things change.

Due to changes in personal circumstances the Committee has lost some key members but we will continue whilst we are able to. If you wish to get involved in anyway please contact Tony at [email protected]

In the meantime we wish you well.
